Ingredients:
- 1 cup white sesame seeds (Til)
- 1 cup Jaggery
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 2 tbsp chopped nuts (cashews, almonds, pistachios )
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
Method:
- Roast seeds:
- On the medium flame, heat a heavy bottom pan . Dry roast sesame seeds without any ghee until aromatic and golden. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare jaggery syrup:
- Take the same pan ,heat some ghee in it . Add jaggery and stir till it melts completely. Cook until it reaches a one string consistency .
- Combine everything:
- Add roasted sesame seeds, cardamom powder, and nuts into the jaggery syrup. Mix fast .
- Set the barfi:
- Prepare a grease tray. Evenly pour the mixture on the greased tray . Flatten with a spatula.
- Cut and serve:
- Once cooled, reduce into squares or diamonds. Allow to set absolutely earlier than serving.
