Paratha with Bhindi Sabji is the staple meal in Indian home cooking . For a quick meal, the crispy parathas with tasty bhindi sabji is a healthy and comforting dish .
Ingredients:
For Paratha:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp oil or ghee
- Water (as needed )
- Ghee or oil
For Bhindi Sabji:
- 250 g bhindi (okra), washed & chopped
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tomato, chopped
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Coriander leaves
Method:
Paratha:
- For making paratha, first knead a dough . Take a mixing bowl, in that add flour, salt, and oil .Slowly add water and make a soft dough.
- Let the dough rest for 20 minutes.
- Divide the dough into same size balls, roll into discs. Cook each paratha on a hot tawa by applying ghee on both sides till golden brown .
Bhindi Sabji:
- Take a pan ,heat oil in it. Add cumin and let them crackle in hot oil.
- After the jeera is brown, add onion and fry till golden. Then add green chilies, garlic paste and ginger paste .
- Now, add tomatoes and cook for two minutes.
- After that add powder spices like red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric and cook till masala leaves oil.
- Add in chopped bhindi, stir properly. Cook it without covering till soft.
- Sprinkle garam masala, add salt and fresh dhaniya.
