
Dabeli is a spicy, tangy, and sweet snack with explosion of flavors packed inside a pav (bun).Originating from the Kutch vicinity of Gujarat, the name Dabeli actually means “pressed,” .The spiced potato filling is pressed into the pav before being garnished with chutneys, sev, and pomegranate.

Ingredients:
For the Potato Filling:
- 3 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp Dabeli masala
- 2 tbsp tamarind/ imli chutney
- Salt to flavor
For Garnishing:
- 1/2 cup of sev
- 1/4 cup pomegranate seeds
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
- Fresh coriander leaves
For Assembly:
- 6 pav buns
- 2 tbsp butter
- Imli or Tamarind chutney
- Green chutney
Method:
- Preparing the Filling
- Take pan, heat oil in a pan. Once hot, add and sauté onions until golden color.
- Add boiled potatoes and salt. Add Dabeli masala , tamarind chutney, and cook for one minute. Cook till nicely mixed.
- Toast the Pav
- Heat butter on a tawa .
- Lightly toast the pav till golden and crisp.
- Assemble the Dabeli
- Slice the pav horizontally.
- First spread chutneys on both sides of the bun.
- Stuff with the prepared potato filling.
- Garnish with sev, pomegranate , roasted peanuts, and coriander.
- Press lightly and serve hot with green chutney.
