Potato Chaat Recipe - Indian Street Food

Potato Chaat
Potato/Aloo Chaat Indian street food- it combines crispy potatoes with bold spices, zesty chutney and crunchy toppings. Whether you are celebrating a festival or just need a breakfast.

Components:

For Potatoes:

  • 2 big potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 3/4 tsp lemon juice

Chutneys :

  • 2 tablespoons green chutney
  • 2 tablespoons tamarind chutney

Toppings:

  • 4 tablespoons nylon sev
  • 2 tablespoons pomegranate
  • 1 teaspoon fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt

Instructions:

  1. Prepare potatoes
    • Boil the potatoes just until tender. Cool, peel and cut cubes in bites size pieces .
  2. Frying
    • Heat the oil in a pan. Fry the potatoes on a high flame until golden and slightly crispy.
  3. Make it spicy
    • Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, chaat masala and salt over hot potatoes.
  4. Add magic
    • Transfer the mixture to the bowl. Add green chutney , tamarind chutney and lemon juice. Mix well.
  5. Serving
    • Add pomegranate , yogurt and top with fresh coriander. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Plating Tips:

  • For earthy vibes, use a rustic ceramic plate or banana leaf .
  • Add the sprinkle of sev , to maintain the crunch.
