
Indian-style bread rolls, a crispy, a golden breakfast that is perfect for tea-time or party platters. These Indian -style bread rolls are a classic street snack made with Deep fried for perfection wrapped in soft bread. They are ideal for easy to make, kids-friendly and rainy days or festive gatherings.
Components:
For filling:
- 4 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
- 1 green chilli (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp lemon juice or dried mango powder
For Rolls:
- 8-10 pieces of white bread
- Water (to moist bread)
- Oil (for Deep frying)
Instructions:
- Prepare the filling:
- Heat some oil in the pan, add cumin. Once they splutter, add green chillies and mashed potatoes. Mix all the spices and lemon juice/amchur. Cook for 2-3 minutes and let it cool.
- Shape rolls:
- Remove the thick edges of the bread. After that, dip each piece of bread in water and gently squeeze out the water . Put one spoon of prepared potato filling in the middle and roll tightly, sealing the edges.
- Fry Rolls :
- Take a deep pan ,heat the oil in it. Fry the rolls on medium high heat until golden brown and crisp. Drain on a paper towel.
- Serve hot:
- Serve the rolls with mint chutney, tamarind chutney or ketchup.
Tips:
- For Shaping the rolls easily, use a little stale bread .
- For a healthy version, air fry or bake .
- For a fusion twist, add grated cheese to the filling .
