Besan Chilla , a delicious Indian pancake is made of gram flour and fresh vegetables. Suitable for breakfast or tiffin box, light and gluten free!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup besan (gram flour)
- 1/2 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 3 tablespoons chopped tomatoes
- 1 green chili, finely chopped
- Chopped coriander leaves
- 1 cup of water
- 2 tsp oil
Instructions:
- Take a mixing bowl, combine the besan, Ajwain , turmeric and salt together.
- Add ginger, onion, tomatoes, green chilli and coriander.
- To make batter, slowly pour water to make a smooth, runny batter.
- Heat a nonstick pan and grease it with little oil.
- Pour a ladleful of batter in the center and spread it into a thin circle.
- Sprinkle a little oil around the edge and cook until golden spots appear.
- Flip until it one side is done and cook the other side.
- Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt.
Tips:
Besan Chilla can be made with a variety of stuffing with grated carrots, spinach or paneer for protein boost.
