Chocolate Barfi Recipe: Decadent Indian Fudge

 Chocolate Barfi

Fusion of a classic Indian mithai with a melted-rich cocoa taste in your Mouth . Ready in just 30 minutes, this no-back treat is perfect for celebrating the festival, giving gifts or satisfying your sweet teeth on any day of the week.  

 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of milk powder  
  • 1/2 cup of cocoa powder   
  • 1 cup powder sugar   
  • 3 tablespoons ghee   
  • 1/2 cup of condensed milk  
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder  
  • A pinch of salt  
  • 2 tablespoons chopped nuts (nuts, pistachios) for decoration  

 Method:

  1. Gently grease the shallow plate or 8 × 8inch tray with ghee and place one side.  
  2. In a nonstick pan, the ghee dissolves over low heat. Add condensed milk and stir until smooth.  
  3. Sift the milk powder and cocoa powder and add slowly, stirring continuously to avoid any lumps.  
  4. Cook the mixture for 5–7 minutes, until it starts to leave the sides of the pan and forms a soft, dough.
  5. Remove from heat, add powdered sugar, cardamom powder and a pinch of salt. Mix until it is evenly combined.  
  6. Transfer immediately to the greased tray. Spread and layer with spatula or your fingers .  
  7. Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top and press them gently.  
  8. Allow to cool for 15-20 minutes at room temperature, then refrigerator for 30 minutes to set.  
  9. Serve by cutting diamonds or square shapes.  

 Serving instructions:  

  • Serve chocolate barfi  with spice chai or espresso.  Pair with fresh berries for Tang's contrasting explosion.
