Banana bread is a sweet, wet short bread made from mashed bananas, loved for its simplicity and comfort. It rose to popularity in the U.S. For the duration of the Thirties, in all likelihood as a way to use overripe bananas throughout the Great Depression.
Components:
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat and Preparation
- Preheat oven over 175'C and take a bread pan and place butter paper.
- Mash and Mix
- Take a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth and turns into paste like texture. Add in melted butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix until properly combined.
- Dry meets Wet
- Take bowl and add flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon and mix all together. After that mix all ingredients into the banana mixture. Do not over mix - just combine.
- Add Texture
- In mixture add walnuts or chocolate chips. Now add batter in pan.
- Bake and Taste
- Now bake the mixture for at least 55 to 60 min. This should be baked till center of bread comes out. Now cool down the baked bread for 10-15 min and transfer it to a wire rack.
Tips:
- For a decadent breakfast, slather with butter or peanut butter.
- Toast the slices of the bread and top with Greek yogurt and honey.
