Date and Walnut Cake Recipe

Date and Walnut Cake
Date and Walnut Cake is not just a dessert, it is a perfect combination of natural sweetness and nutty in flavor. It is Moist, rich and nutritious and perfect dish to consume with tea and coffee. This recipe is simple but ideal for festival and evening snacks.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup dates (deseeded and chopped)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 and 1/2 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder (it is optional)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
  • A pinch of salt

Instruction:

  1. Preparation of Dates
    • In a bowl and add chopped dates
    • Add the boiling water, and baking soda.
    • Now leave it for 10 minutes till dates become soft.
  2. Mix of wet ingredients
    • Mix butter and sugar till it becomes light and fluffy.
    • Beat the egg one at a time and add it to the butter and add the vanilla extract.
  3. Mix of dry ingredients
    • Take a bowl, in this bowl pour flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and mix it well.
  4. Mix all together
    • Add soft date mixture to wet ingredients.
    • Now add the dry ingredients gently.
    • Finaly add chopped walnuts and mix.
  5. Baking of Cake
    • In a greased tin or round pan ,pour the batter.
    • Finally bake the cake at the temperature of 180 for 35-40 minutes.
    • To check cake is cooked take a toothpick insert it in cake and if comes out without any problem the cake is ready.
