
Celebrate the earthly flavors of Maharashtra with this simple, nutritious peanut laddu recipe. Made with roasted peanuts and jaggery, this protein -filled sweet is suitable for bail pola, Makar Sankranti or any festive plate.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of roasted peanuts (shengdana), remove the skin
- 3/4 cup of jaggery (gud)
- 1 teaspoon ghee
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- A pinch of salt
Method:
- Roast & Grind: Dry roast peanuts until aromatic. Grind into a coarse powder after cooling .
- Melt Jagerry: Take a pan, heat the ghee and add the jagerry. Stir on a low flame until it melts .
- Mix and shape: Add ground peanuts and cardamom powder. Mix quickly and turn off the heat.
- Form Ladoos: Although hot, shape the mixture into small balls using greased palms. Let them cool and set.
Serving Tips:
- Serve as part of your bail pola plate or festive plate.
- Add Pittala bhakari or spice vangi for the spread of rustic Maharashtrian.
- Store in an airtight container for a week.
