Instant Poha Kheer Recipe with Condensed Milk

This instant Poha Kheer is a shortcut of festive temptation - creamy, nutty and ready in 30 minutes!
No slow cooking, no fuss - just pure dessert magic with poha and condensed milk!

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups Poha (flattened rice), wash and drain
  • 1 and 1/2 liter full fat milk
  • 1 cup of condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cardamom, crushed
  • 7-8 nuts, chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons ghee
  • 10-12 cashews
  • 10-12 raisins
  • A few saffron strands
  • Slivers of pistachio powder and almonds for decoration

Method:

  1. Prepare Nuts:
    • Take a pan, heat ghee in it. Now fry cashews and raisins until golden. Set one side.
  2. Simmer the Base:
    • In a heavy bottom pot, add milk, cardamom and chopped nuts. Bring to a gentle boil.
  3. Add Poha:
    • Stir in the washed poha and cook for 5-6 minutes until soft and slightly thick.
  4. Make sweet and rich:
    • Add condensed milk and sugar. Mix properly and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Finishing and decoration:
    • At the end , to finish, add fried nuts and saffron strands. Stir.
    • Decorate with pistachio powder and almond slivers and serve with hot or cold.

Festive Twists:

  • Add rose syrup or kewra water for aroma.
  • Serve with edible flowers in mini clay vessels.
  • Paired with a modak or ladoo for the festive plate vibe.
