Kaju Katli Recipe An Indian Delicacy

The Indian sweet Kaju Katli can be easily prepared at home. Here is a quick recipe for you: 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of cashew (kaju) 
  • 1/2 cup of sugar 
  • 1/4 cup of water 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cardamom (optional) 
  • 1 teaspoon ghee (for lubrication) 
  • Elderly silver sheet (optional, for decoration) 

Instructions

Prepare the cashew powder: Use a blender to spray the cashew powder. Avoid mixing the cashews a lot, because the excessive mixture releases oil.

Make sugar syrup: Mix sugar with water in a pan and heat until a consistency of a rope.

Combine the ingredients: lower the fire and mix the cashew powder in the syrup. Stir continually to avoid lumps. 

Cook the mixture: Keep cooking the mixture over low heat until thickened and separate from the sides of the pan.

Knead the dough: After cooling the mixture for a short period of time, knead -a with ghee to get a smooth dough that does not stick.

Roll and shape: Position the dough between two sheets of butter paper and roll -a to obtain a uniform thickness. Cut into diamond forms. 

Decorate
: For a festive look, you can choose to apply an edible silver sheet at the top.
