Instant Tricolor Mithai -Easy Sweet

Celebrate Independence Day  and Janmashtami with this quick and joyful instant tricolor dessert, creamy, melt in the mouth, made with milk powder .Vibrant saffron-orange, pure white and refreshing green layers combined to form the sweet perfect of festivals for the spread of your patriotism.

Instructions:

  1. Prepare saffron-orange layer :
    • In a mixing bowl, attach 1 cup of milk powder with 3/4 cup of warm milk. Soak the saffron (with milk), powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Mix in to form  simple, thick dough.
  2. Set the base layer:  
    • Spread the saffron dough evenly on parchment-Paper laid  tray (about 8x8 inches). Press firmly. Refrigerator for 10 minutes for half-set.
  3. Prepare the white layer :
    • In a clean bowl, whisk until 1 cup of milk powder, 3/4 cup hot milk, powdered sugar and vanilla . A smooth white colored dough is formed. Remove the base of the saffron from the fridge, then spread the white dough over it. Press a little and cool for another 10 minutes.
  4. Prepare the green layer:  
    • Mix 1 cup of milk powder, 3/4 cup hot milk, powdered sugar and green food color or matcha powder. Level it over  the white dough , press down , and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes .
  5. Slice and garnish : 
    1. Once set, remove the sweet block from the tray. Cut into your desired shape. Top each piece with chopped pistachio or nuts and finish with a touch of edible silver vark.
  6. Serves and store : 
    1. Place the mithai on a plate and serve . The sweets can also be stored in the fridge for up to 4 days.
