Fish Curry

Explore the rich flavors - Tender fish simmered in spiced coconut tomato sauce. Perfect with rice or naan. A must-try Indian recipe for seafood lovers. Dive into a rich and aromatic world of fish curry! This dish combines tender fish with a medley of spices, making a comfortable and delicious meal.

Ingredients 

  •  Fish: 500g   fish
  •  Onion: 2 medium (finely chopped)  
  •  Tomatoes: 2 medium 
  •  Garlic paste: 1 tablespoon  
  •  Ginger paste: 1 tablespoon  
  •  Coconut Milk: 1 cup  
  •  Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp  
  •  Red chilly powder: 1 tsp  
  •  Coriander Powder: 1 tsp
  •  Cumin powder: 1 tsp
  •  Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp  
  •  Curry leaves: 8-10  
  •  Oil: 3 tablespoons  
  •  Salt: to taste  
  •  Water: 1 cup  
  •  Fresh coriander leaves: for decoration  

Instructions  

  1. Prepare the fish: marinate parts of the fish with a pinch of turmeric and salt. Set   aside for 15 minutes.  
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Heat the oil in pan and add mustard seeds. Once they are splashed, curry leaves, garlic paste and ginger paste. Stir until aromatic.  
  3. Cooking the onions: Add the chopped onion and stir until golden brown.  
  4. Add spices: Turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder and stir. Cook for a minute.  
  5. Include tomatoes: Add tomato puree and cook until the oil is separated.  
  6. Simmer: Pour coconut milk and water. Bring a gentle simmer.  
  7. Add fish: carefully place the fish parts in the curry. For 8-10 minutes or cook slowly until the fish is tender.  
  8. Garnish: Sprinkle fresh coriander leaves on top and serve hot with steamed rice or naan.
