Badam Halwa

Badam Halwa is a expensive Indian sweet made with almonds, ghee, sugar, and saffron. It’s a need to-have during gala's like Diwali, Rakhi, or weddings, and its nutty richness. Best way to welcome Happy New Year.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • Few saffron strands
  • 8–10 cashews

Instructions:

  1. Preparation of Almond
    • In hot water, Soak 1 cup of almond for 30 minutes .
    • Prepare almond paste. For preparing the paste peel the almond and grind it with milk.
  2. Cook the Halwa
    • In a pan heat the ghee. In heated ghee add the almond paste and fry it on low flame , until ghee separated from almond.
  3. Sweetness and Flavor
    • Mix sugar and saffron milk.
    • Cook the above milk mixture till it become thick.
    • Add cardamom powder for perfume.
  4. Garnishing and Serving
    • In ghee fry the cashew and place it on top.
    • To serve halwa add the saffron milk on top.
